Release notes v3.0.0
With this release, Sendent for MS Teams is renamed to Nextcloud for MS Teams. You'll see the new name and logo in Microsoft Teams and in our documentation. Functionality, settings, and licenses stay the same, so no action is needed. Read more about the rebrand.
New
- Organization sharing in group chats: you can now share files with your organization in group chats, not just 1-on-1, team and channel chats. The add-in finds which chat members have Nextcloud accounts and lets you choose who gets access. If no members have an account, you see a clear message instead of an empty list.
- Domain allowlist: admins can limit which domains the add-in accepts.
- Nextcloud theming: the add-in now uses your Nextcloud instance's theme colours, applied to accent elements only.
- Rebranding: new branding, and the product is now called Nextcloud for MS Teams.
- Configurable chunk size for large uploads: admins can set the upload chunk size with
CHUNK_SIZE_MB. The value is checked at startup, and the size at which uploads switch to chunks now matches the chunk size.
Improved
- Faster member lookup: finding Nextcloud accounts for group chat members now uses a single bulk request. If the server doesn't support that, it falls back to the previous method automatically.
- User search: search now uses Nextcloud's autocomplete endpoint and returns only Nextcloud users.
- Overwrite dialog: the "file already exists" dialog has a cleaner design.
- Consistent dialog buttons: in every dialog, the main action is on the right and Cancel is on the left, both in the theme colours.
- Drag and drop: general improvements to uploading by drag and drop.
- Logging: logs now use the same structure as the Outlook add-in, which makes support and troubleshooting easier.
Fixed
- Large file uploads could keep running and never finish.
- Uploading large files by drag and drop could freeze the add-in.
- Badly formed messages sent to the bot could crash it. They are now rejected.
